Tavertet Hotel
The IN:OUT Hotel Concept: Embracing Nature and Tranquility
Welcome to the world of the IN:OUT Hotel Concept, where nature and tranquility converge to create a truly unique and immersive experience. Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Tavertet, this remarkable hotel sets itself apart with its innovative design and unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
LOOK OUTSIDE: Connecting with Nature
The IN:OUT Hotel Concept revolves around the principle of “LOOK OUTSIDE.” It aims to provide guests with extraordinary opportunities to explore and observe the surrounding environment. One of the most captivating features of this concept is the inclusion of several observation decks and walking areas on the roofs, granting visitors unparalleled panoramic views of the stunning landscapes that envelop the hotel.
Imagine stepping onto one of these observation decks, feeling the gentle breeze caress your face as you soak in the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. The IN:OUT Hotel Concept offers a sanctuary where guests can escape the fast-paced world and reconnect with the serenity and magnificence of the natural world.
LOOK INSIDE: Privacy and Self-Discovery
In addition to the external focus on nature, the IN:OUT Hotel Concept also prioritizes the “LOOK INSIDE” principle, providing guests with an oasis of privacy and relaxation. By encouraging observation of the surrounding natural wonders, the concept opens pathways for self-discovery and inner reflection.
Inspired by the ingenious way birds build their nests in the mountains, the hotel’s private block curves around the shape of the rock, seamlessly integrating into the terrain. The configuration of the private block places the hotel rooms in harmony with nature, creating a sense of tranquility and serenity for guests.

Harmonious Integration with the Environment
The IN:OUT Hotel Concept boasts an organic design that harmoniously merges with its surroundings. The two distinct blocks, namely the public and private blocks, blend effortlessly into the natural terrain, accentuating the overall aesthetic appeal of the hotel.
The private block, where the hotel rooms are located, follows the curvature of the rock, emulating the way birds build their nests in the mountains. This design choice not only adds to the visual allure but also ensures that the entire floor remains hidden within the rock, creating an intimate and secluded ambiance for guests.
On the other hand, the public block, which houses the entrance hall, restaurant, and spa for visitors, is positioned on the surface and serves as the most visible part of the hotel. While it offers a striking architectural presence, a portion of this block, including technical communications and access, cleverly remains concealed underground, preserving the unblemished beauty of the landscape.
Aesthetic Excellence: Design and Decor
The IN:OUT Hotel Concept champions aesthetic excellence through its meticulously crafted design and decor elements. The interior showcases an open plan layout, accentuated by metal elements, minimalist lighting, and carefully placed accent pieces. The result is a sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere that effortlessly blends with the natural surroundings.
Moreover, the hotel boasts several observation decks and walking areas on the roofs, inviting all those who traverse the tourist trails to revel in the mesmerizing views. For those seeking a more secluded experience, an upper-level walking area and a dedicated spa center offer a peaceful retreat from the outside world.
Sustainable Practices for a Greener Future
At the heart of the IN:OUT Hotel Concept lies a deep commitment to environmental sustainability. Every aspect of the hotel’s design and operation is carefully curated to minimize its ecological footprint and preserve the integrity of the surrounding environment.
One notable example is the decision to forgo parking cars close to the hotel, instead opting for golf carts to transport guests and their belongings from the village of Tavertet. This conscious choice helps reduce noise pollution and allows guests to truly immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature.
Furthermore, all excavated earth is repurposed for landscaping, resulting in minimal consumption of natural materials and the preservation of the environment’s natural integrity. The hotel’s facades feature mirrored glass and movable panels, serving both aesthetic and practical purposes. The panels protect against excessive sunlight while giving the facade a dynamic and ever-changing appearance.
Timeless Elegance: Catalan Architectural Influence
The IN:OUT Hotel Concept pays homage to the rich architectural heritage of Catalonia. Inside, guests are greeted by vaults reminiscent of medieval naves in the reception area, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the contemporary design. Monolithic forms, wooden structures, and natural stones are thoughtfully incorporated into the decoration, showcasing the region’s unique architectural traditions.
Natural materials such as corten, mirrored glass, local stones, wood, and clay feature prominently in the hotel’s interior design. These materials not only blend harmoniously with the surrounding environment but also contribute to the overall ethos of sustainability and connection to nature.
Embracing Sustainability: Green Innovations
In its pursuit of eco-friendliness, the IN:OUT Hotel Concept integrates cutting-edge green innovations. The technical unit incorporates the GREEN BLAZE waste system by Adgex, which operates independently of external power sources. This innovative solution ensures responsible waste management without compromising guest comfort.
To minimize water consumption, the hotel employs a rainwater collection and treatment plant from GRAF. This forward-thinking approach maximizes the utilization of natural resources, further reducing the hotel’s environmental impact. In addition, solar panels adorn the southern part of the façade, harnessing the power of the sun to provide the hotel with clean and sustainable electricity.
